Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VCV) has announced an additional investment in its ongoing Engineered to go scheme for its Crafter model.
Covering the marque’s UK Van Centre network, the Engineered to go initiative enables buyers to purchase off-the-shelf conversions of the Crafter to cover a range of specialised functions.
This includes expanded payload capacities of up to 17 cubic metres, as well as tipper variants and window vans with up to eight passenger seats.
Overall, the project is aimed at providing additional versatility for commercial buyers, with each Engineered to go model utilising a galvanised steel sub-frame, resin-coated birch plywood decks and anodised aluminium side and tail panels, with all modification work carried out by leading bodybuilder Ingimex.
Andrew Waite, head of sales operations for VCV, commented: “Customers can swiftly get the vehicles they need with the additional peace-of-mind that the accompanying body is hard-wearing, corrosion-resistant and recognised for its quality and durability.”
