Volvo Group has been highlighted for its sustainability and excellent green credentials in a new report published by Global Engagement Services (GES).

The GES data ranked the top 1,600 companies in the world for their level of commitment to tacking green issues, with Volvo coming out in an impressive fourth place – beaten only by Xerox, Motorola and Sony.

In the GES Sustainability Report, Volvo is praised for the way in which it addresses a number of economic, environmental and social challenges.

Olof Persson, chief executive officer and president at Volvo Group, commented: "Our vision is to become the world's leading company within sustainable transport solutions. That means we should also be world leading when it comes to reporting how we are working to get there."

He added interest in sustainability and the impact of companies on the environment continues to grow year by year. It is therefore encouraging that Volvo is taking such a proactive stance on the matter.
