Volkswagen Passenger Cars (VW) has announced a significant upturn in deliveries in the year to February in comparison to the same period in 2012.
According to the company's latest data, the vehicle manufacturer has reported a 9.1 cent increase in model orders to 893,400 for January and February this year.
Much of this rise came in January, but last month was still marginally improved (up 0.4 per cent) on 2012.
"The Volkswagen brand was not entirely immune to the tough competition and continued uncertainty in key European markets in February," commented Christian Klingler, board member for sales and marketing at VW.
However, he added that the firm was able to offset much of this uncertainty by shifting its focus to high-growth markets in both the Asia-Pacific and central and eastern European markets.
Last month, the company reported it was able to meet all of its financial targets for 2012, delivering sales growth from €159.3 billion (£139.7 billion) in 2011 to €192.7 billion last year.
