Volkswagen (VW) Group has published new details of driver assistance technologies as part of its Vision Zero initiative, which aims to bring about accident-free driving in the future.

According to the vehicle manufacturer, the innovation that is taking place within its research and development departments could one day lead to the end of traffic accidents altogether, and with this in mind, the firm has revealed its latest systems that will be gracing its models in the coming years.

Full details of the new Drive Assist 3 system have been released, while the company is also keen to highlight the benefits of its new remote control parking and trailer assist innovations help drivers to avoid low-speed collisions.

Other new systems being outlined by VW include the second generation of its Area View, Emergency Assistance, Construction Site Assistant, blind spot monitoring, the City Emergency Brake, CAR2X Safety and the PreCrash occupant safety systems.
