Volkswagen (VW) has published its latest figures for the first 11 months of the year, with the company highlighting its best ever January to November performance.

According to the firm's own figures, 8.29 million vehicles have been delivered by the company so far in 2012 – a 10.4 per cent increase on the same period last year.

Furthermore, the vehicle manufacturer delivered 794,500 units – up by 11.7 per cent – during November alone.

"We have already delivered more vehicles after 11 months than during the whole of last year. That is an outstanding achievement," said group board member for sales at VW Christian Klingler.

He added that the announcement is particularly pleasing due to the ongoing uncertainty and fragility that is being witnessed in the European automotive market.

Earlier this month, Mercedes-Benz also announced a significant milestone, achieving its best ever UK market share during November at 4.5 per cent.
