SEAT UK has announced the launch of its brand new Fleet Excellence programme, which is designed to encourage its dealers to provide an even higher level of customer support and service to its fleet customers.

The car manufacturer's SEAT Fleet division has consistently achieved significant growth over the past four years and bosses want to see this success extend further in the future.

As a result, the Fleet Excellence initiative has been established, which will see an extra £12,000 per year awarded to dealerships that can demonstrate that they continually provide a high standard of service to their fleet customers.

In order to benefit from this financial boost, SEAT dealerships will have to sell more than 100 units a year to contacts whose fleets contain at least 40 vehicles.

These dealerships will also be required to show that at least two members of their staff can use the company's direct invoicing system so SEAT can be assured that smooth customer service is being offered to its valued fleet customers.

What's more, fleet dealers will need to demonstrate that they meet other standards, such as matching customers' expectations in terms of vehicle handovers, forecasting and transaction accuracy, for example.

If SEAT dealers can prove their efficacy in these areas, they may be eligible to declare Fleet Excellence status, which will see them awarded an annual sum of £12,000 to spend on some of the additional operational costs associated with fleet management, such as systems support and administration.

SEAT hopes that by encouraging dealers to work towards this mark of excellence, they will be better incentivised to get more fleet customers on board, enabling the brand to become an industry leader in this area.

Head of fleet and business sales at Peter McDonald commented: "The Fleet Excellence programme is built to make fleet sales more viable for our dealer network and will encourage dealerships to make it a more significant part of their business going forward."

Ben Robb, brand manager at The Fuelcard People, adds: "This sounds like a great initiative from SEAT UK and we look forward to seeing how this will benefit both fleet drivers and owners in the long term."
