Vehicle manufacturer Ford has reported an extremely positive set of results for July, with an upsurge in UK sales and improved market share as a result.
The company achieved its best share of the UK marketplace for more than four years at 16.5 per cent in July, while both the Fiesta and Focus models topped the country's sales charts during the month.
Indeed, the Fiesta has outsold its nearest rivals in the year so far by a factor of two to one.
Mark Ovenden, Ford of Britain chairman and managing director, said: "Ford's best-ever model range is at the heart of this success, which was underlined in July with every nameplate, from Ka through to Galaxy, increasing sales compared with July 2012."
Official figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders showed last month saw a 12.7 per cent annual rise in vehicle registrations across the sector. However, this was overshadowed by Ford's upturn in demand, with a 38.2 per cent increase against July last year.
