Road safety charity Brake is calling on businesses up and down the UK to invest more time in training their staff to avoid dangerous situations and accidents.

According to the organisation, every week ten people are killed and more than 100 injured by motorists driving for work.

As a result, Brake is asking companies to ensure their staff follow some simple but effective safety tips, including cutting their speed, being aware of their surroundings at all times, not driving when tired and having their phone turned off and out of reach.

To back up this advice, Brake is holding a one-off event in Bristol this month (April 23rd) to spread this vital road safety message to firms.

Earlier this month, the charity also announced its annual Fleet Safety Conference is to take place on June 13th at St John's Hotel in Solihull, Birmingham. Issues that will be covered are to include new technology to improve fleet safety, community engagement and carrying out effective partnerships.
