CAM Systems has become a member of vehicle safety charity TyreSafe.

The organisations are now set to work together on campaigns aimed at raising awareness of the importance of tyre safety, including carrying out regular checks on these items before setting out, as well as ensuring pressures are maintained at the correct level.

Failure to do so can be risky, as incorrect pressures can lead to a fall-off in handling, while tears and rips in the tyre surface could result in a blowout.

Stuart Jackson, chairman of TyreSafe, said: "It's fantastic news to welcome CAM Systems to the ever expanding TyreSafe family. With a trusted and high public profile within the industry, it will be an important addition to the organisation."

Last month, Mr Jackson highlighted the ongoing problem of potholes on roads across the UK, with these hazards becoming a considerable issue for drivers.

He argued that freezing weather that has blighted the UK over recent months has caused more and more of these dangerous obstacles.
