Lexus has unveiled its new IS range for the first time at this year's North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
Running until January 27th, the event is a showcase of the latest innovations in the automotive sector and Lexus has certainly done just that with its exhibit.
The new IS range – including the V6 petrol IS250 and full hybrid IS300h – are all rear-wheel drive and are aimed squarely at the luxury performance vehicle sector.
"Every aspect of the new IS has been engineered with a focus on sporting performance, agile handling, accurate response to driver input and highly communicative feedback," commented Junichi Furuyama, IS chief engineer at Lexus.
NAIAS has also seen a number of other world debuts, including Maserati's new flagship Quattroporte model.
The V8 variant of the vehicle achieves an impressive 191 mph top speed and can accelerate from zero to 62 mph ion just 4.7 seconds.
