The Highways Agency has issued advice to UK motorists planning to head out and about over the coming days, as the country looks set to be battered by high winds and heavy rain.
According to the organisation, drivers should take extra care and be alert for possible traffic disruption after the Met Office issued a number of weather warnings for the south-east in particular.
"It takes twice as long to stop when the road is wet, so leave plenty of space between vehicles and slow down if heavy rain or spray is making it difficult to see the road ahead," advised Highways Agency south-east severe weather manager Tim Lyver.
Meanwhile, the Institute of Advanced Motorists has also issued its own warning about the wet and windy conditions, stating that drivers should be aware of sudden changes in the road surface, ensuring they have their wits about them at all times when driving in wet conditions.
Will you be carrying on as normal despite the disruptive weather?
