The new Mercedes-Benz E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid has picked up the top honour at the Business Car Manager SME Company Car of the Year Awards 2012.

Voted best company car for SME directors and best overall company car for SMEs, the E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid was a clear winner with the judges due to its excellent benefit-in-kind rating, performance and spacious interior for occupants.

Nick Andrews, head of fleet services for Mercedes-Benz UK, commented: "The E 300 BlueTEC Hybrid generates just 109 grams of CO2 per kilometre, with a combined fuel economy of 67.3 mpg, as proved in our real-world driving eco challenge, so it really is an exciting company car."

He added that the vehicle brings a new dynamic to the company car sector in the UK.

Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class was recently named winner of the 2012 Chauffeur Car of the Year award by motoring publication Professional Driver.
