Bentley has announced its new GT Speed Convertible model is to be revealed for the first time at this month's North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Kicking off on January 14th, the event will witness the unveiling of the world's fastest four-seat convertible, with the vehicle capable of achieving a top speed of a staggering 202 mph.

"The new GT Speed Convertible will appeal to drivers who seek the sensory thrills of the world's fastest four-seat soft-top and the practicality of a year-round grand tourer, together with unrivalled levels of luxury and refinement," commented Bentley chairman and chief executive Dr Wolfgang Schreiber.

He added that the new model has been designed to capture the imagination of luxury vehicle fans and to be totally uncompromising in both its style and performance.

Last month, Bentley showcased its new Continental GT3 concept at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, with the model one of the standout exhibits at the annual event.
