Vehicle manufacturer Audi has revealed it witnessed record levels of September sales for its models in the UK in comparison to previous years.

The company saw 25,829 vehicles sold last month – the greatest number reported during any September in the company's 49-year history.

Furthermore, this record performance has also helped the firm deliver its best ever year-to-date sales of 114,264 in the first nine months of 2013.

Head of sales for the manufacturer Paul Sansom commented: "The scale of demand for Audi in the UK has never been stronger or more consistent and despite these record sales numbers our future customer order bank is also at an all-time high."

Audi now delivers 47 models for buyers across the UK, offering a number of three-door, five-door Sportback and Saloon options. Its newest additions to its vehicle range include the A3 and A3 Sportback, the S6, S7 Sportback and S8.

Last year, the firm reported total UK sales of 123,622 – a figure it is already close to breaking.
